    What will you learn? 

    Practice Development: 

    • Explore and increase use of a range of pedagogic approaches aligned with teaching for mastery.

     

     

    • Build confidence in supporting pupils to master mathematical concepts. 

    Professional Learning: 

    • Enhance maths subject knowledge, focusing on key concepts, representations, and language (e.g., number sense, additive reasoning, fractions). 

    • Identify common misconceptions and strategies to address them for concept mastery. 

    • Identify and apply pedagogical approaches that enhance teaching and learning in maths. 

    • Develop understanding of key principles and approaches related to teaching for mastery 

    Who can take part 

    • Primary teaching assistants  

    What is involved? 

    • Participants will attend four days of sessions over one academic year. 

    • Structured conversations will focus on maths, pedagogy, misconceptions, and transferring approaches to classrooms. 

    • Between sessions, participants contribute to an online community, complete school-based tasks, and share observations with peers.
